Cello Worlds of Groove

Participants will explore rhythmic concepts from the Levant, North Africa, and various fiddle styles, further developing their skills in polyrhythms, independent body movement, and groove-based improvisation. Through practical exercises, we will strengthen our sense of time and deepen our rhythmic awareness.

The workshop also introduces advanced playing techniques—such as “chopping” and “bow bounce” strokes—adapted from Eastern and Western playing practices.

Ideal for advanced string players who wish to expand their rhythmic vocabulary and explore the full expressive potential of the cello in contemporary and intercultural contexts.
