The first novel about Max and Mathilde Beckmann
In an engaging, entertaining, and insightful style, Marianne Ludes recounts the life of the renowned artistic couple: their deep love, sources of creative inspiration, and a unique friendship, historically documented. Ludes had exclusive access to Mathilde Beckmann's previously unpublished diaries and paints a vivid portrait of a clever and dynamic woman of our time.
After studying economics, Marianne Ludes and her husband built a large architectural firm. In 2023, they established the non-profit Ludes Foundation. Marianne Ludes is also actively involved in cultural activities, particularly with the Potsdam Literature Festival and the Berlin State Opera. Her book, "Ludwig Jacobs – or the Vanished Life" (2021), is also available. Marianne Ludes lives in Potsdam.
