An Electronic-Baroque Concert Performance by and with Anke Retzlaff

Poetry, electronic music, baroque! Anke Retzlaff, the actress and classically trained musician celebrated in film, television, and theater, once again navigates the thicket of audience voices after her exhilarating dream-based performance, Dream Machine (2021).

The theme? The most primal of all experiences, the one that connects us all: birth—the most intensely intimate and, at the same time, most socially scrutinized moment of life.

The pregnant body becomes a dance floor for medical professionals, the pharmaceutical, food, and advertising industries. With viola da gamba, lute, and synthesizers, Anke Retzlaff, Peter Florian Berndt, and Dominik Tremel plunge into the fray with texts by Kathrin Liess. Come and be born!

A production of the SCHALL&RAUSCH Festival at the Komische Oper Berlin.
