The young physician Dr. Eduard Levinstein founded a fountain and bathing establishment in Neu-Schöneberg in 1861. Under the French name Maison de Santé, he developed it into a private clinic with an international reputation.
As a sanatorium and nursing home for the mentally ill, the facility remained in family ownership until 1919. The exhibition sheds light on the development of the Maison de Santé, which combines the history of the building, medical history, (Jewish) family history and emancipation history. It also looks at the subsequent use of the listed ensemble between Hauptstrasse and Belzigerstrasse.
