Starring Karsten Troyke and El Alemán

Now singer-songwriter Bettina Wegner and singer-actor Karsten Troyke are bringing to life one last time the legacy of a song tradition that has become rare.

Not “being cool,” but showing one’s true self; not “wanting to have fun” as an expression of resignation, but open laughter and questions in songs.

German singer-songwriter and lyricist Bettina Wegner, known to a wide audience for the song “Sind so kleine Hände, numerous LPs and CDs, and books of poetry and song lyrics, retired from the performing arts in 2007. Wegner withdrew from the concert stage she had shared with Joan Baez, Konstantin Wecker, Angelo Branduardi, and many other artists. In principle.

Her voice, however, remains as strong as ever, and when Karsten Troyke asked her to put on a joint evening, she did perform from time to time—always accompanied by guitarist El Alemán (aka Jens-Peter Kruse).
