Support: Anxious, dynamite
When a band returns after years of silence, the question inevitably arises: Are they still the same – or better? When Basement celebrated their comeback at Outbreak Fest in the UK in 2024, the answer was clear: more powerful than ever. With renewed vigor and increased self-confidence, they will tour again in 2025 – including in Germany, with a stop in Berlin.
Since their formation in Ipswich in 2009, Basement has been considered a counter-model to the narrow-minded emo and hardcore scenes. Their sound – raw, melancholic, expansive – ranged from Sunny Day Real Estate to the guitar walls of the 90s. Colourmeinkindness, their seminal second album, was released shortly before a long hiatus and posthumously became a milestone of the grunge-emo sound of the 2010s.
An anniversary edition of the album was released in 2024 – featuring acoustic reinterpretations reminiscent of the great MTV Unplugged moments. And the live performance also shows:
Basement are back, more experienced but still unbroken. They'll be coming to Germany for selected shows in fall 2025. They'll be joined in Berlin by Anxious and dynamite – a must-see for anyone who wants to experience real emotion and powerful sound on stage.
