On 9 November 1918, Philipp Scheidemann proclaimed the republic and the end of the German Empire in Berlin. On 9 November 1923, Hitler's coup attempt at the Feldherrnhalle in Munich failed. ; on 8 November 1939, Georg Elser attempted to assassinate Hitler with a bomb in the Bürgerbräukeller; and on 9 November 1989, Günter Schabowski more or less unintentionally announced the end of German division at a press conference.

These are events that Alexander Kulpok uses as an opportunity to illustrate the historical and fateful significance of 9 November with eyewitness accounts, video and audio clips.
