On 13 July 2025, JAPANMARKT BERLIN will take place for the 19th time, once again presenting the popular annual Japanese Summer Festival.


From 12 noon to 7 p.m., Berlin's JAPANESE CULTURAL FESTIVAL will once again open its doors to all Japan fans in the Kreuzberg Ballroom. Visitors can look forward to art, culture, cuisine and lifestyle from the Land of the Rising Sun.


The cultural programme of the JAPANMARKT gives the audience the opportunity to embark on a journey into traditional and modern Japan and to get to know the diversity and versatility of this culture. For each event, the JAPANMARKT team curates a special selection of artists and prepares thematically coordinated contributions.

Japanese Summer

  • Traditional Japanese dance Chihoco Yanagi, koto musician Ritsuko Takeyama, soprano singer Takushi Minagawa and shamisen musician Megumi Hayami
  • Traditional Japanese samurai martial arts from the 200-year-old martial arts school Hokushin Ittō-Ryū Hyōhō from Tokyo
  • Electro pop concert with Nanaco Violin
  • Yukata fashion show with Chihoco Yanagi and models
  • Bon Odori dance with Chihoco Yanagi and Kensuke Sakamoto
  • Taiko Lin drummers
  • Pop concert with NILO
  • Rock concert with SOSOSO
  • Aseo Friesacher & Kana Fuefuki – music duo from the Netherlands with Japanese-inspired jazz
  • Sugama Berlin Sanshin School – Music from OKINAWA

This time, visitors can once again learn about the healing arts of Seitai and Reiki treatments and receive treatment from therapist Chisun Yan.
