A Christmas market that avoids waste and presents creative, green alternatives. Welcome to the Zero Waste Xmas Market in the inspiring Atelier Gardens at Tempelhofer Feld! Here you can get into the Christmas spirit in a sustainable and stylish way - with ethically produced products, upcycled design, vegan street food and innovative gift ideas.

The market is part of the Zero Waste Festival Berlin and offers you a colourful mix of workshops, talks and art installations - all in the spirit of sustainability. Between fairy lights and fir trees, you will find hand-picked labels from Berlin that show how beautiful and responsible gift-giving can be. The location, an ecologically designed creative campus on the site of the former Union Film Studios in Berlin, adds extra flair to the market. A must for all those who want to celebrate consciously.

The "Winterzauber unterm Zelt" awaits you under the weatherproof tent roof of the ufaFabrik with atmospheric twinkling lights, handmade arts and crafts, upcycling ideas and lovingly curated products from the neighbourhood. Sustainability and community take centre stage here - from natural cosmetics to social initiatives that present themselves on site.

The "Kakao & Geschichten" fairytale area will be a cosy highlight for children and adults alike, where they can paint, listen and dream. And when you all sing together at the end, even a cold December evening will feel a little warmer.

A visit to the Domäne Dahlem feels like the city is taking a short break. Just a few underground stations away from the hustle and bustle, you can immerse yourself in a rural Christmas world on the historic estate in the south of Berlin. The scent of hot chestnuts, gingerbread and freshly felled organic fir trees wafts over the cobblestones, while children's eyes light up at the pony rides, candle making and Christmas tree ball painting.

For over 30 years, this sustainable and family-friendly market has been delighting visitors with its regional organic offerings, traditional crafts and a lovingly designed supporting programme. Tractor and carriage rides across the grounds, Christmas brass band music and flickering fire baskets create a relaxed Advent atmosphere with a lot of heart.

Our tip: Stop by the manor house café or visit the manor house museum - this will turn your visit to the market into an all-round atmospheric winter experience.

The Christmas market around the baroque Köpenick Palace invites you to a contemplative weekend full of warmth and tradition. A special start awaits you on Friday evening: The cutting of the two-metre-long Christmas stollen is not only a feast for the palate, but also a symbolic start to the festive season. Stroll through the lovingly decorated market stalls, where you will discover handmade ceramics, artistic candles, festive table decorations, regional honey and many gift ideas with heart and craftsmanship.

There are also creative craft activities and storytelling for children that will make little eyes light up. Opposite, on the Schlossplatz square, sweet and savoury treats, punch and mulled wine beckon - ideal for warming up and enjoying the colourful hustle and bustle.

Between golden fairy lights, the quiet elegance of Far Eastern aesthetics and the rough beauty of hand-forged knives, a special Advent location is being created in Potsdamer Straße: the Kōgei X-Mas Market of Manufactories. This Christmas market deliberately dispenses with hustle and bustle and kitsch - instead, the minimalist Kōgei showroom welcomes you with clarity, craftsmanship and a soothing calm.

Let yourself drift between unique pieces: filigree paper art, shiny silver jewellery, ceramics with kintsugi. Meet the artists in person, experience their live demonstrations and immerse yourself in the deep connection between materials and people. Delicate wagashi, traditional Japanese sweets and fine specialities await you with culinary delights that touch the palate as much as the senses. In the middle of the historic village centre of Gatow, surrounded by old trees and the charming village church, a Christmas market will unfold on 14 December that will touch your heart and senses. The Gatow art and craft Christmas market is a real insider tip - not huge, but with all the more soul. Around 40 artisans from the region present their lovingly crafted unique pieces: from handmade candles and wooden toys to fine jewellery and textile treasures.

Let yourself be enchanted by the Imchen Kombo with jazzy swing and blues melodies in the church, sing along to Advent carols from dusk onwards and experience moments of fellowship while joining in with drumming and readings. The event kicks off with a church service in the morning and ends with a prayer service and the ceremonial passing on of the light of peace from Bethlehem - a symbolic gesture in the dark season.

In the middle of the wintry forest, where the scent of fir is in the air and the ground crackles softly beneath your shoes, the forest Christmas market at the Grunewald forestry office invites you to a very special Advent experience. Here, in the rustic farmyard, fire bowls crackle and hot drinks steam freshly prepared.

If you like, you can take your Christmas tree with you, as well as a Swedish torch for the garden or handmade arts and crafts from the region. The Berlin Forestry Department provides exciting insights into its work: mighty logging horses, modern forestry machinery and many opportunities to marvel, learn and touch - an experience not only for young visitors.

Spend a contemplative Advent weekend on Lehmann's farm

When the smell of mulled wine and freshly baked goods wafts through the old village centre, ponies trot across the paddock and festive music can be heard from the village church - it's Christmas time again at Lehmann's farm in Marienfelde. Just a stone's throw away from the historic village green, this lovingly designed Christmas market opens its doors again on the third weekend in Advent. In the midst of rustic stable buildings, between handmade items such as soaps, upcycling decorations and artistic ceramics, it is a wonderful place to browse, chat and enjoy.

Families get their money's worth: while the little ones get creative with craft activities, choirs and orchestras on stage and festive concerts in the ancient village church provide musical highlights. The cinnamon liqueur is warming, the honey comes from Berlin bees - and the warmth of the hosts makes this market a real insider tip.

Within the historic walls of the newly reopened Colosseum Berlin in Prenzlauer Berg, a Christmas market that is everything but ordinary awaits you on the third weekend in Advent. Over 150 designers, artists and manufacturers will show just how cool and high-quality gift-giving can be: Whether handmade jewellery, avant-garde fashion, art objects or unique design pieces - here, browsing becomes a treasure hunt.

The creative Christmas spectacle is rounded off by a musical line-up with DJs, relaxed chill-out zones under fir trees and plenty of street food. If you fancy celebrating Christmas in an urban, stylish way and with a touch of Berlin subculture, you shouldn't miss this market.

With its first Christmas market, Ludwig-Beck-Platz, otherwise known for its summer wine and vintners' festivals, is now also transformed into a place full of enjoyment, creativity and good humour during the cold season. The focus remains on fine wines: enjoy hot and cold wine variations from renowned winegrowers - including vegan mulled wine options - and discover hand-picked specialities from the region.

Jochen, the charming elephant in a Christmas hat, will make children's eyes light up and provide plenty of fun between charming stalls with handmade arts and crafts and Christmas decorations . This market combines fine taste, loving details and a family atmosphere.
