Arts & crafts Christmas market in Gatow
Christmas market in Berlin on 13 December 2026
A peaceful Advent atmosphere amidst the greenery: on the third Sunday of Advent, the historic village centre of Gatow is transformed into a cosy Christmas market. Between the village church, the community centre and the parish grounds on the banks of the Havel, lovingly decorated stalls invite you to explore and linger. Look forward to a special blend of arts and crafts, community spirit and festive music.
The Gatow Christmas market is perfect for a festive and contemplative family outing. Although it is rather small by the standards of Berlin’s many other Christmas markets, there is plenty to discover here.
Original handicrafts to admire and give as gifts
Fans of handicrafts will be in for a real treat: around 40 craftspeople are selling unique goods and handmade products to visitors at the Christmas market. As you continue to stroll around, you can hear about the history of Gatow and the initiatives of the local clubs, whilst learning something new.
Music to set the festive mood
The Advent market is accompanied by a varied musical programme: Christmas swing with the Imchencombo, festive organ music, brass band sounds and performances by the Gatow Choir all help to create a pre-Christmas atmosphere. You can get involved yourself with the interactive drumming session , whilst the Gatow Horn Quartet invites you to sing along.
The market also has plenty to offer in terms of food : try the Gatow Fire Brigade’s mushroom stir-fry, hearty barbecue specialities, freshly baked waffles and cakes. You can enjoy the Advent season in particularly cosy surroundings in the Stollenstube, over a glass of mulled wine or punch.
