Blind and visually-impaired visitors can experience Berlin with a trip by bicycle taxi. Feel the asphalt, hear and smell the surroundings. That is the Berlin air! The drivers are also guides with extensive knowledge about the capital and they know exactly how to convey it.


The travel operator “Betreute Erholung und mehr Meer Leben GmbH” offers Segway tours for people with mobility restrictions. The model Freee F2 is a Segway which you sit on. You can go on a sightseeing tour through the capital as part of a guided tour or completely on your own.


City guides through the neighbourhoods for wheelchair users, the blind, the visually-impaired, the deaf and those hard of hearing, are provided by the Berlin Tourism Association Treptow-Köpenick. An audio guide which you can hire from Schlossplatz Köpenick, will guide you through Alt-Köpenick.

Exploring Berlin’s neighbourhoods by wheelchair

With the help of the online tool, Sozialhelden e.V and visitBerlin have mapped out a diverse route through Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Mitte for people in wheelchairs. You can expect fresh air, delicious food, fantastic views, art, culture and night life. One thing you will not find: insurmountable barriers! So everyone can join in: Wheelchair users, people with walking aids and parents with prams.

Berlin has a magnificent network of rivers (five), canals (six) and lakes. Let your mind drift, enjoy the food and marvel at the attractions of the capital from the water.

If you want to get an overview of the city, visit the Panoramapunkt at Potsdamer Platz. The fastest lift in Europe will whisk you in your wheelchair up to the 24th floor, from which you can enjoy the panoramic view over a cup of coffee. You will also get a wonderful view from the Bell Tower at the Olympic Stadium.The building also features an exhibition on the Berlin Olympic Stadium which is steeped in history.
Important: The Berlin TV Tower is not accessible to wheelchair users for safety reasons.
