Membering invites the audience to take part in a collective practice of repair. Together with the performers, visitors gather around fragments, memories and inherited stories, moving through acts of restoration, therapy and archiving – as choreographies for living with what remains.
Drawing on a personal family history of loss and war, Dragana Bulut explores social choreographies of grief and repair. Choreography thus becomes a way of tracing how grief moves over time through bodies, generations and collective memory – and how events we have not experienced ourselves can nevertheless become part of what we carry within us. Membering is therefore not a performance about overcoming grief, but an invitation to ask how we can bear it together.
