WUCHERUNG

The exhibition brings together two distinct approaches to abstract painting. What unites them is a process-driven way of working: the paintings are not created according to a fully planned design, but develop step by step through the interplay of colour, form and movement. WUCHERUNG describes this open-ended process of growth, change and further development.

This idea is also reflected in the design of the opening event. A contemporary dance performance by Valeria Bobke (@valeria_leyh) will accompany the opening, providing a physical counterpoint to the paintings. Movement and change are thus not only visible in the works, but can also be physically experienced. Afterwards, Anja Beecken and LAURA LUZIA will engage in a conversation during the artist talk, discussing their works, their different artistic processes and the creation of the joint exhibition.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, 13 November 2026, from 7.00 pm.

The exhibition will then be open on Saturday and Sunday as part of the Steglitz-Zehlendorf Open Studios. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the works of the two artists whilst also getting to know the venue where the exhibition is taking place.
