An AI mediation tool for participation

Can you imagine having a political conversation with someone else—moderated by artificial intelligence? That's exactly what you'll experience in this workshop. Parallaxe is a prototype that brings together people with opposing political views and facilitates AI-guided mediation.

The AI accompanies your exchange: It rephrases statements neutrally, can translate live into other languages, and contextualizes facts where necessary. You'll also learn how the technology behind it works—how an AI language model functions, what it can do, and where its limitations lie. Experience for yourself what an AI-moderated conversation feels like, discover the underlying mechanisms, and join the discussion: Does technology help with understanding—or does it get in the way?

Cooperation

The "Parallaxe" project was funded through the Designer-in-Lab program of the Fraunhofer Network "Science, Art, and Design." The Fraunhofer Society for the Advancement of Applied Research is a shareholder of Futurium.

Workshop Leaders:

The workshop will be led by Chantal Pisarzowski (forward stud.io), in collaboration with Kira Schomber from the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI).

Chantal Pisarzowski is a creative technologist and founder of forward stud.io in Berlin. She develops research-based, interactive, cross-media installations at the intersection of art, technology, and science, combining AI, human-computer interaction, and visual storytelling to make the social and ethical consequences of new technologies tangible.

Kira Schomber is part of the "Capture and Display Systems" research group, which focuses on high-resolution audio and video processing, AI-supported sensor fusion and analysis, auralization, and 3D audio for interactive applications. Within this context, Kira Schomber specializes in making the complex field of artificial intelligence easily understandable.
