"The Other Half of Olympus" - Women, Power and Myth
To conclude the season, the RundfunkchorLounge delves into the sonic and cultural dimensions of gender. Questions of gender and identity are by no means new. They were already explored in diverse ways in ancient times. For example, in Greek mythology, where a surprisingly diverse range of identities can be found beyond binary attributions.
Sounds of Identity: Myth and Music
What sounds emerge when gender boundaries are broken down? And what does music reveal about role models, identities, and social attributions? In this program, ancient myths meet contemporary perspectives – in conversation and in music.
The final RundfunkchorLounge of the season welcomes you with exciting perspectives and musical contrasts, in the typically relaxed atmosphere of Heimathafen Neukölln. The Rundfunkchor Berlin will conduct the evening under the direction of Gijs Leenaars. It will be accompanied by expert discussions that explore current and historical topics and place the musical program in a social context.
