Jam session with Syrian melodies and Moroccan Gnawa beats
To create something new together, you first have to connect, listen to each other, and engage with each other. This is exactly what the popular Arab Song sessions from the Zig Zag Jazz Club are all about: a transtraditional jam with a bit of partying, a bit of surprise, but above all, immediate musical interaction and improvisation.
In this special edition for the VOM ANFANGEN festival, melodies from Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon intertwine with contemporary jazz and fusion elements.
Trance-like beats and the hypnotic sounds of Moroccan Gnawa music heat up the atmosphere. Before the third part of the session, all the musicians come together on stage to celebrate the diversity of Arabic musical traditions with surprising improvisations and prove: Everything will be oud!
- Traditional melodies from Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon, contemporary jazz and fusion elements, and Moroccan Gnawa music.
