The Resurrection of Christ, 1491-1494
The work reflects Leonardo's presence in Milan in the late 15th century. Wilhelm Bode discovered it in the Gemäldegalerie's storage room and attributed it to Leonardo, sparking a passionate debate about authorship that was closely linked to the reception of his work and his school – a discussion that was only resolved a century later.
Speakers: Dr. Llane Fragoso-Maldonado, Berlin, and Prof. Dr. Philipp Enger, Evangelische Hochschule Berlin

The interdisciplinary event series "Christian Image Contemplation" takes place – except for the summer break – generally once a month and is a collaboration between the St. Matthäus Foundation and the Gemäldegalerie of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
According to the calendar of the church year, selected paintings are discussed by an art historian and a theologian and presented for discussion.
