When the temperatures rise, Berlin’s lakes and outdoor swimming pools are the perfect destinations for cooling off. Thanks to public transport, all the swimming spots are easily accessible. Alizé – Cirque du Soleil show in Berlin

Family Day at the Futurium invites children and families to discover the future of agriculture under the theme ‘Microbes, Carrots, Combine Harvesters’. Open Monument Day

Berlin is home to plenty of fascinating historical sites that are otherwise inaccessible. On Open Monument Day, their doors are open to everyone; you can watch restoration work being carried out by heritage experts and, of course, ask them anything. What better way to kick off autumn than with a harvest festival? The traditional Müggelheim Harvest Festival presents a varied programme of stage performances. There’s also arts and crafts, street food and fairground rides for children.

At the Traditional Festival at Späth, families and gardening enthusiasts will find a colourful autumn festival on historic grounds. Around 120 exhibitors present plants, arts and crafts, and gardening ideas, whilst live music, culinary specialities and local wines ensure a great atmosphere. Children can look forward to fairy tales in the Black Barn, horse-drawn carriage rides and craft activities using natural materials.

Fairy-tale huts in Monbijou Park

Since 14 November, the Fairy Tale Huts have been inviting children into an enchanting fantasy world during the day and, in the evenings, become a stage for modern, sensory Grimm productions for adults.

For anyone who likes to get active, here are a few cool ice rinks in Berlin. But Berlin also has the perfect option for those of you who prefer indoor activities: Roller Kidz. A roller disco for children. You can hire roller skates and blades, or bring your own.

For creative families, the Ephraim Palais offers a free creative workshop for children aged 3 and over. Pictures are edited and imaginatively designed.

Berlin welcomes spring in style with its first major fair – the Spring Festival in Reinickendorf. A wide range of attractions awaits you at the fairground, featuring more than 50 showmen and women and nearly 80 rides. You can enjoy a truly special view of the colourful hustle and bustle and springtime Berlin from the Ferris wheel.

Spring in the Gardens of the World

In spring, it’s not just nature that blossoms anew, but Berlin too. It’s getting warmer and the sun is finally shining more often. A visit to the Gardens of the World is a great opportunity for a cosy picnic amidst nature awakening from its winter slumber. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival also takes place there. Look forward to a sea of pink blossoms, numerous workshops, art and music. You can also marvel at cosplayers and their costumes and look forward to traditional Japanese crafts and culinary delights.

The Düppel Museum Village has a very special programme on offer for the Easter holidays. At various stations, visitors of all ages can paint Easter eggs or weave washcloths from fabric scraps. There will also be historical children’s games and bread-on-a-stick baking. The guided tour ‘Spring in the Middle Ages’ is sure to be of interest too.

The children’s programme at the Wasserturm Library features singing, painting, crafts and much more. The programme is aimed at children aged 2 to 6 and includes various hands-on activities and events. Little ones aged 2 to 6 can look forward to a varied picture book cinema programme and discover lots of interesting books and other media.

Britzer Baumblüte

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Berlin’s family folk festival. A varied and colourful programme for young and old is on offer, featuring various fairground rides and a creative stage programme. On Easter Sunday and Monday, the Easter Bunny will be handing out surprises to children. Wednesday is also Family Day, so you’ll get discounted prices on the rides. The cosy beer garden and other culinary highlights round off your visit.

International Museum Day
