Drop-in workshop

What will a farm look like in the future? Perhaps drones will fly over the fields, sensors will measure various soil parameters, and artificial intelligence will assist with the harvest. What sounds like science fiction is already a reality in many fields today.

Modern technologies like drones, satellites, and sensors make it possible to use water, fertilizer, and energy in a targeted way. Genetically modified seeds also play a role: they can make plants more resilient and increase yields.

This family workshop focuses on these topics. Using the Calliope mini and the HuskyLens, you can experiment with how image recognition works and the role artificial intelligence plays in it. You’ll also have the chance to develop and creatively design your own plants of the future.

This drop-in event is held as an “open Roberta project” in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research e.V. for its Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems IAIS.
