Performance

In this performance, objects appear playful, like something from a fairground – but nothing is as it seems. Delaine Le Bas revisits Zigeuner Sauce, first a drawing from 2017, now reimagined through presence, protest, and persistence. A farewell and a confrontation unfold simultaneously – a reckoning with identity, erasure, and exhaustion.

»The clown mask. Do you remember? Stolen.......... Like many other things, stolen.......... The lives stolen............The lies told.......... Hypocrisy everywhere...« The work, like its maker, refuses to be silenced. »Zigeuner Sauce is here again & this time they’re not going quietly..............« What seems still is shifting. What appears fixed is fraying. Ghost like yet insistent, this performance asks: what remains visible, and who decides? A haunting exploration of what we carry, what we bury, and what refuses to disappear.
