About World Cleanup Day
Every year on the third Saturday in September, World Cleanup Day takes place.
- Millions of people around the world go out into nature, parks, streets, on and under water to collect litter on this day.
- It is the largest bottom-up litter cleanup movement in the world. Everyone can participate!
Simply register for the cleanup action on Sept. 21, 2024 on the World Cleanup Day website and become part of the worldwide community.
Private individuals, companies, initiatives, associations, municipal bodies, local authorities and many more will make the world cleaner together on one day!
World Cleanup Day also aims to record the amount of trash collected. The association Let's do it! Germany e.V. includes the figures in a data collection that is made available to the UN, among others.
- In 2022, 15 million people in over 190 countries around the world participated in the WCD and sent a strong signal for a clean, healthy and waste-free environment.and litter-free environment.
- In Germany, around 293,000 people in more than 1,300 cities and municipalities took part in more than participated in more than 6,700 cleanups and collected more than 1,400 tonnes of waste.
