Anne Nguyen / Compagnie par Terre
In “Witch Hunting,” Anne Nguyen, together with six dancers, explores power, exclusion, and societal blame. Krumping, hip-hop, and urban and traditional African dances merge into a powerful dialogue about solidarity, community, and human connection.
“Witch Hunting” illuminates humanity’s pursuit of power and its capacity for self-sacrifice. Six dancers share the empty stage, revealing through their movements how they perceive and understand the world and their own bodies.
The performance poses fundamental questions: What is cultural identity? What does community mean? And what connects people within society? It also explores how people are made scapegoats for blame and thus unjustly denounced. “Witch Hunting” encourages reflection on fairness, solidarity, and the concept of the common good.
The original music, composed by Pierre Demange and Grégoire Letouvet using percussion and prepared piano, explores the rhythms and melodies that define a community.
- Recommended for ages 10 and up.
