Terms such as flight, migration, and asylum shape current social and political debates. Yet in public discourse they are often used imprecisely or deliberately distorted. This makes it all the more important to distinguish between them clearly and to gain a deeper understanding of their meaning.
Svenja Niederfranke from the Migration Program at the German Council on Foreign Relations explores these questions. She explains what the terms signify in both political and legal contexts and shows why precise language is essential when it comes to flight and migration.
