
“Chip Baskets” - as can be seen in “All Hands On : Basketry” exhibition - were traditionally made from split wood and used mainly for packing and transporting fruit. Spend a day weaving your own environmentally friendly basket from recycled packaging materials.
Discover the processes and simple weaving techniques needed to make a contemporary take on traditional “chip baskets”.
All materials needed to make this basket will be provided on the day. Pegs/clips needed to continue weaving at home can be bought on site for 5 EUR.
- The class will be taught in English
- Particpants must be 16 y/o or older. Basketry requires reasonable strength and flexibility in your hands
- Fee: 30 Euros, including museum entrance
- Limited number of participants, registration required
