In the 2000s, Dota Kehr released music under the pseudonym “Die Kleingeldprinzessin”; in 2003 and 2007, she recorded albums in Brazil in collaboration with Brazilian musicians such as Chico César and Danilo Guilherme. Since 2013, she has been touring and releasing music under the name DOTA, which encompasses both her musicians and herself.

Dota Kehr was born in Berlin, where she has always lived—with the exception of a few extended stays in South America. In 2020, the band released the album “Kaléko,” featuring musical settings of texts by Mascha Kaléko. In June 2023, “In der fernsten der Fernen” was released—another album featuring settings of Mascha Kaléko’s texts, with which the band is touring major theaters and concert halls. At the Luftschloss Tempelhofer Feld, several previously unreleased pieces will also be performed.

Lukas Meister is an exile from Freiburg, a resident of Wedding by choice, a singer-songwriter, and a wordsmith. In his lyrics, he tackles the big questions: Where should you definitely go, and why not Berlin? How can you make the end of the world as pleasant as possible? One hundred euros—how many melons is that? And what does the world look like from a snowflake’s perspective? Between songs, he rambles on about partner loyalty cards and barroom conversations, analyzes the inconsistencies of the German language, and blurs the lines between music and cabaret before picking up his guitar again, which he accompanies with virtuosity. Along the way, he spices things up with a pinch of melancholy or a detour into Italian.
