Treffen junge Musikszene

As well as public concerts, the event creates a creative space where the prize-winners can further develop their musical style in intensive workshops, receive tips and guidance from professionals, and get to know one another, exchange ideas and jam together.

Young artists aged between 11 and 21 from across Germany who express their thoughts, themes and messages through music are invited to take part. Bands, duos or solo artists can apply with songs they have written themselves, electronic music, digital sound productions, vocal art or sound experiments in any language and across all current musical genres. An independent jury will select around 10 participants, duos or bands from the entries to be invited to the gathering in Berlin.

As well as public concerts, the ‘Treffen junge Musikszene’ creates a creative space where the prize-winners can further develop their musical style in intensive workshops, receive advice and expertise from professionals to help with their work, and get to know one another, exchange ideas and jam together.

The ‘Treffen junge Musikszene’ is part of the ‘Treffen junge Szene’ programme organised by the Berliner Festspiele and is funded as a national competition by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ).
