The vocal ensemble Acanto, under the direction of Helga Delgado, presents sacred choral music spanning four centuries – featuring works by Johann Hermann Schein, Isabella Leonarda, Johannes Brahms, Hugo Wolf, and Rudolf Mauersberger.

In times of uncertainty and crisis, the ensemble draws on the unifying power of music. The highlight of the program is Rudolf Mauersberger's poignant funeral motet "Wie liegt die Stadt so wüst" (How desolate lies the city), premiered in 1945 in the ruins of Dresden's Kreuzkirche – a timeless memorial against war and destruction.
