forgotten female* composers

Change rarely happens all at once. It begins quietly, almost unnoticed: like a steady drip wearing away a stone, like a bud slowly stretching towards the sun, or like a delicate sound that builds into a powerful song.

As winter slowly loosens its grip, ‘Time to Blossom’ brings together music by female composers that reflects processes of growth, transition and renewal.

A luminous and intimate programme for cello, voice, flute and piano, inspired by the slow return of light, life and courage. For spring is not just a season: it is a state of mind.

Great music should not go unheard. For various reasons, the contributions of many women in music have been forgotten over the decades and centuries – but through the process of rediscovery, we offer the chance to make up for lost time.
