For two decades, the Tilia Quartett of the Staatskapelle Berlin has captivated audiences with its musical depth and sonic refinement.

In this special matinee, the four musicians dedicate themselves to works with moving histories: Dmitri Shostakovich's Eighth String Quartet, a poignant dedication "to the victims of fascism and war," meets Antonín Dvořák's richly textured "American" Quartet – a work brimming with wanderlust and folkloric inspiration. The program opens with Joseph Haydn's radiant "Sun Quartet," whose lightness and elegance provide the framework for this Slavic-influenced sonic journey.
