Live broadcast from Antarctica

What do you take with you on a multi-week journey to the eternal ice? And what significance do literature, art, and theater hold in Antarctica?

Director Jan-Christoph Gockel and actors Julia Gräfner and Wolfram Koch travel to the Neumayer III Station. Based on an artistic research residency—made possible by the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research—the theatrical performance "Polaris" explores a stateless continent where global climate change and shifts in the political landscape become visible. On location, the team conducts research, improvises, and collects (film) material.

The team brings the insights gathered on this journey back to Berlin and presents them on the stage of the Kammer. On February 10, at 7 p.m., the actors will be connected live to the balcony foyer to hear about their experiences on the other side of the world. Questions from the audience are welcome.
