When the rain fails to fall in Taruka's community, the little deer child sets off on an adventurous journey with his friend, the musician Quechcan.
Will they manage to bring back the rain?
Taruka's fairy tale is based on iconography from the ancient Peruvian Moche culture. With spoken theatre, elements from traditional dances such as Tondero and Marinera and music played on pre-Hispanic instruments, the global themes of friendship and respectful treatment of nature are brought to the stage in a child-friendly way.
CHICHA EXPRESS is an intercultural and interdisciplinary performance duo. Using drama, live music and dance, they create mythological worlds that invite audiences to rediscover cultural heritage in a contemporary context. Their productions reach a cross-generational, international audience. Their aim is to build a bridge between the global North and South, between past and present.
