EMMATHEO; Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg

A poetic narrative about the first and defining moments of fears, dreams, failures, victories, and self-confidence. Hip-hop dance expresses what words cannot and enters into a sensory dialogue with lyrics, video, and street art.

Production and Ensemble

LA PREMIERE FOIS (Eng. “The First Time”) is a dance theater production that combines hip-hop, theater, music, lighting, and video into a sensory and human experience. The performance explores formative moments: first fears, dreams, failures, victories, and self-confidence. In it, EMMATHEO conveys what words cannot express. Hip-hop dance engages in a dialogue with theater, gestures, and silence to create a poetic and universal narrative.

Light and video accompany the emotions, transform the space, and expand the imagination. The colors, inspired by street art, follow the shifting emotions, from joy to self-reflection.

Beyond the performance itself, LA PREMIERE FOIS celebrates connections, the passing down of experiences, and the wonder of first-time experiences. It is a visual and emotional journey that highlights how every “first time” shapes our identity.

Among the young talents shaping the future of urban dance, EMMATHEO has already established itself as a duo to watch. Emma and Theo Pinger, siblings from the French island of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean, captivate audiences with a unique artistic identity that combines energy, sensitivity, and a familial bond, all of which shine through in every one of their stage performances.
