Five actresses embody almost the entire staff of the novel, to which the story nevertheless remains amazingly faithful. It is all portrayed from the perspective of five maids. In the midst of slapstick, pop songs and a love story, a narrative of female self-determination and economic dependence emerges. Wild, touching, rousing and, above all, very funny.
