Stefan Hertmans in conversation with Mathilda Legemah. The reading is by Matthias Matschke

Stefan Hertmans, born in 1951 in Ghent, Belgium, is a poet, playwright, and novelist, and is considered one of the most important contemporary Dutch-language authors. In the Botticelli Room of the Gemäldegalerie (Picture Gallery), the author will discuss art and friendship with art historian Mathilda Legemah.


Actor Matthias Matschke will read selected passages from the book.

Before the reading: At 6:15 p.m., a free short tour (approx. 30 minutes) of the exhibition "Homage to Vittore Carpaccio" and Renaissance painting in Florence will begin.

Meeting point: The foyer of the Gemäldegalerie.

An event in cooperation with Literaturhaus Berlin e.V.

Admission is free. Limited number of participants. Registration is recommended.
