A musical journey with Tomasz Kamieniak on the piano

Pianist and composer Tomasz Kamieniak, winner of international piano competitions, has performed in cities such as Sofia, Kyiv, Weimar, London, Bayreuth, Venice, Prague, San Francisco, and Taiwan. He writes works for piano and harpsichord, as well as chamber, vocal, and film music and piano transcriptions by Glass, Górecki, Gounod, Korngold, and Prokofiev.

Tonight, he will "weave" a tapestry of sound from works by well-known and lesser-known composers from the Orient to the Occident, namely Mohammed Fairouz, Fazıl Say, Charles-Valentin Alkan, Franz Liszt, Walter Niemann, Ferdinand Hiller, Salomon Jadassohn, and two songs by Anton Rubinstein, based on a text by the Persian poet Mirza Schaffy and a poem by Heine, respectively, telling the story of a young prisoner's love for the Sultan's daughter.
