Songs that connect - A musical homage to Anna German

Anna German (1936–1982) was one of the most popular singers of the Soviet era. Her songs touched millions of people in the USSR and Poland – and continue to do so today.

With her bright, clear voice and distinctive expression, she became a musical legend: "Echo Lyubvi," "Nadezhda," "Gori, Gori, Moya Svezda," "A on Mne Nravitsya," and "Belaya Cheremukha" – these songs became part of the sound of an entire generation.

Her life between cultures – a nearly finished script – became the ten-part television series "The Secret of the White Angel" in 2013, a co-production from Poland, Russia, and Ukraine that unites nations. Even beyond her death, Anna German remains a symbol of understanding through music.

The Russian-German singer Helena Goldt, born in Kazakhstan, brings Anna German's songs to the stage with new warmth and depth. After numerous concerts with the Kaliningrad State Symphony Orchestra, she is now touring Germany with a special program – together with the renowned Berlin ensemble Trio Scho, which combines Eastern European timbres with chanson, swing, and world music.

Trio Scho was founded in 1991 in the Ukrainian city of Poltava. The trio has been performing in Berlin since 1994. With a wide variety of song programs and in collaboration with artists such as Karsten Troyke and Alexander Estis, the trio has performed at the Klezmer Festival in Ancona, Brussels, Vienna, Paris, and Warsaw, among others.

A musical evening between memory and the present, a musical homage to a great artist – and a journey into the sound world of the Soviet 1960s and 1970s, full of longing, remembrance, and quiet hope.

The theater opens at 5:00 PM.
