Art Parcours on Wildmeisterdamm
The path runs straight through Gropiusstadt and connects different neighborhoods with the adjacent nature and bird sanctuary. Long before high-rises were built here, it bordered fields and a royal hunting ground. Buried in the ground around the path lie the roots of ancient trees, cobblestones from the days of the old highway, unimplemented urban development plans, and the lost cornerstone of Gropiusstadt. Hovering over it all is the postwar modernist ideal of light, fresh air, and sunshine. The path is a place of transition—between city and nature, between everyday life and a protected natural space.
The artists Jana Maria Dohmann, Valentina Karga, Toshihiko Mitsuya, Silvia Noronha, Fruzsina Pusztai, Katja Marie Voigt, and Elisa Dierson explore the path and its history in various ways. What was laid in the ground back then? What has survived underground, and what are people placing there today for the future?
Stroll, roll, or run along the course and discover works of art and course exercises in the alcoves along the path.
