Staged reading with Irene Christ and Johannes Hallervorden
Hans Christian Andersen's fantastic coming-of-age fairy tale has moved generations with his fantastical fairy tale.
Following the success of the staged reading of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol," Irene Christ and Johannes Hallervorden embark on a search for the Snow Queen. Following a tried-and-true recipe—with suspense and humor. The stories couldn't be more different, but they share one theme: the longing for warmth.
THE STORY
Gerda and Kay are neighbors who grow up like siblings—until Kay is kidnapped by the Snow Queen, the ruler of the realm of snow, frost flowers, and cold, to her palace in the far north.
Gerda embarks on an adventurous search for her friend. Along the way, she encounters an enchantress with a beautiful rose garden, a princess and prince in their castle, and a wild robber's daughter...
Kay, however, has an icy heart, and his past with humanity has been forgotten. He is interested in cold perfection.
