Sasha Waltz & Guests Children's and Youth Dance Company
In the weeks leading up to the performance, dance workshops based on the pieces will be offered to school classes, led by dancers from Sasha Waltz & Guests and instructors from the children’s and youth dance company.
In their new piece “Rain,” children aged 9 to 11 explore the diversity of rain: gentle and playful, or wild and powerful. How does a light shower or a heavy downpour feel?
The young dancers transform raindrops into movement, storms into rhythm, and bring the rain to life on stage—sometimes delicate and playful, sometimes stormy and serious.
The teenagers (ages 12–14) interpret Maurice Ravel’s masterpiece “Bolero” from their own perspective. What happens when something remains the same?
The young dancers explore how energy, presence, and expression develop through repetition. Dance becomes a journey to the self, to one’s own body in flux: In repetition, there is no stagnation, but rather development—and it connects with the experience that small changes can have a big impact.
