musical-literary evening with Christiane Paul, Ulrich Noethen and the Trio Boulanger
The "salons" in Paris were already cultural institutions when Liszt and Chopin excelled there. Half a century later, with stars like Fauré and Debussy, they had hardly lost any of their luster.
And even in the tension between the "Belle Èpoque" and "Fin de Siècle," the era in which Nadia and Lili Boulanger grew up, the "zeitgeist" was celebrated here. Even Nadia's lessons, which took place every Wednesday in her Paris apartment, continued this tradition.
Volker Hagedorn – author for "Die Zeit" and "Deutschlandfunk Kultur," among others, and of the books "The Sound of Paris" and "Flames – A European Musical Narrative 1900-1018" – has created a fictitious salon especially for this homage:
Christiane Paul, Ulrich Noethen, and the musicians of Trio Boulanger immerse the audience in a dazzling apocalyptic and evocative atmosphere, taking them on a journey through the biographical milestones of the Boulanger sisters.
