Disposable agents via social media

DHL parcels explode, murder plots are hatched, internet cables are destroyed, German warships are suddenly paralyzed - hardly a day goes by since the war in Ukraine without new attacks and spying activities being reported that Western security services attribute to Russia.

The web of espionage and destabilization with which Russia is currently covering Europe is complex. The documentary "Sabotage - Germany in Putin's sights", based on research by WDR/NDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung, shows a sophisticated system of Russian agent activity in our midst. Sometimes it's about attacks, sometimes about spying on targets, sometimes about vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure.

The documentary also tells how Russian secret services recruit saboteurs and informants for such operations via social media platforms such as Telegram, and asks: Is Germany up to this hybrid war? Curtain up for the authors of an impressive and frightening TV documentary, excerpts of which are shown here.
