Rainbirds - Through The Web Of Time - 40 Years, One Voice

With songs like “Blueprint” and “Sea Of Time,” the Rainbirds created timeless classics for the eternal pop songbook.

At the center is Katharina Franck, the charismatic singer and writer of these timeless songs and lyrics, whose unmistakable timbre has become the band’s trademark. With Beckmann (bass), Wolfgang Glum (drums), and Rodrigo González (guitar), the lineup from the band’s early days is nearly complete.

Also joining the lineup is pianist, composer, and longtime Rainbirds member Ulrike Haage, who has been honored with the Albert Mangelsdorff Prize, among other awards, for her outstanding solo work.

Electric guitarist Werner Neumann, an indispensable companion in Katharina Franck’s musical universe, and drummer Dominique “Gaga” Ehlert, hyper-professional and warm-hearted, round out the lineup.

“These will be the best Rainbirds there ever were,” promises Katharina Franck.

Through The Web Of Time is by no means merely a nostalgic retrospective. As a musical journey through the Rainbirds’ song history, the setlist will naturally feature the great classics, but also defining works from the Rainbirds’ subsequent years.

Ulrike Haage’s and Katharina Franck’s literary references, their compositions for film, theater, and radio plays, and Franck’s recurring exploration of appearance and reality and the simultaneity of past, present, and future.

The band’s heterogeneity, its most striking shared hallmark from the very beginning, shines brightest in this expanded lineup.

In Berlin, the Rainbirds will also bring young singer-songwriters Lina Maly and Willow Parlo on stage, each of whom will reinterpret a Rainbirds song.
