As part of the world’s largest festival of public science talks, researchers give presentations in various bars to make science accessible to a broad audience in a relaxed atmosphere.
Each event features three talks in German or English on topics ranging from machine learning to biology and sociology.
Pint of Science was launched in 2012 by a group of British doctoral and postdoctoral students who wanted to bridge the gap between academic research and the public. The festival’s founders, Dr. Praveen Paul and Dr. Michael Motskin, wanted to give science a personal touch and give everyone the opportunity to meet the people behind the research. This local initiative has since grown into a global festival taking place in over 500 cities across 28 countries.
