Carpaccio and the music in Venice
What sounds accompany Carpaccio's "Entombment of Christ"? In the background, a shawm, originating from the ancient aulos, can be heard. Around 1500, Venice was a vibrant center for innovative sacred and secular music.
This guided tour explores the relationship between various compositions and Carpaccio's work, as well as other Venetian paintings in the Gemäldegalerie. Gaby Bultmann will play the music, while Sabine Engel will offer art historical perspectives.
Participation fee: €10 plus admission.
