Outburst of courage for everyone!

The idea behind it: Around the 36th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, an entire city celebrates democracy and freedom: institutions, associations and initiatives organise a week full of exhibitions, films, discussions and activities in public spaces.

The ‘Meine Schönhauser Allee’ interest group will also be providing many exciting programme items with its ‘Straße der Demokratie’ (Street of Democracy).

The Schönhauser Allee Arcaden invites you to the exhibition ‘Mutausbruch für alle’ (Courage for All) in the centre.
The Colosseum cinema is hosting a film day with ‘Stories of Freedom’, and the Bettina von Arnim Library is offering workshops under the motto ‘Experience democracy – shape freedom!’.


The MACHmit! Museum is a place for children aged 2 to 12 and their adults and is a living museum.


Even before the official start of Berlin Freedom Week, the exhibition ‘Mutausbruch für alle’ (Courage for Everyone) by Berlin's MACHmit! Museum for Children will be on display in the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden from 3 November.
The official opening of the exhibition will take place on 4 November 2025 at 5 p.m. on the ground floor of the Schönhauser Allee Arcaden.

In addition to the movement in the seven-metre-high climbing rack, artistic activities will deepen the exhibition theme – always in connection with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
