Central and Eastern European Artists in Berlin
Here, Berlin emerges as a hub where languages, biographies, and artistic forms of expression converge. The festival makes these interconnections visible and invites us to rethink the relationships between East and West, past and present—not as fixed opposites, but as a fluid field full of transitions.
The program spans readings, concerts, lectures, performances, and discussions. Many of the events are multilingual, often interweaving original language and translation, thereby making this polyphony itself part of the artistic experience.
The result is a festival that not only presents but also connects: a place for encounters, friction, and surprising perspectives. OSTPOL BERLIN sees itself as an invitation to step outside familiar cultural boundaries and engage with new voices that have long shaped Berlin—often quietly, sometimes loudly, but always powerfully.
