Up close and personal: experience opera differently. Young musicians from all over the world, many of them from some of the best training centres in the field of classical music, such as Juilliard School New York, Royal College of Music London or Indiana University, meet for four weeks for an intensive course at the Berlin Opera Academy.

They present the results every year in late summer at the OPERNFEST - a festival of popular operas performed at extraordinary venues with their very own atmosphere. The audience is right in the middle of the action, sometimes the stage is only a few centimetres away, sometimes it suddenly changes position during the piece.)
