How can people engage with climate-related emotions when climate change simultaneously eludes their cognitive understanding?
Dr. Lea Luka Sikau, spokesperson for the Young Academy’s Sustainability Working Group, offers insights into her artistic research on climate anxiety, sound, and vibration. Together with music therapists and psychologists, as well as the Young Academy, she is working on exhibitions and new operas on this topic, among other projects.
After a brief introduction and subsequent discussion, participants will take an active role:
Personal experiences with climate anxiety will be transformed into artistic form, and perspectives will be shifted. To this end, exercises from speculative fiction will be used, and participants will work with sound islands
Cooperation
A collaboration with the Young Academy, whose sponsoring academies are the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina e.V. – the latter is one of the Futurium’s founding partners.
