Why do people cross borders? What consequences does this border crossing have on their citizenship, legal status, and opportunities for political participation? How has citizenship changed as a result of migration?
This thematic tour uses selected objects to discuss the interconnectedness of emigration, exclusion, statelessness, and opportunities for political participation. Migration occurs for a variety of reasons: voluntarily, due to war and violence, through political pressure and coercion, or to overcome a discriminatory legal status. The thematic tour takes a look at the reciprocal relationship of flight, migration and citizenship and raises the question of belonging as well as exclusion.
No advance registration is necessary for the guided tour. Meeting point is at the ticket office in the Pei-Bau.
