Sonny Thet (from Cambodia) and Beate Gatscha (from Thuringia) have chosen Berlin as their home and the foundation for their artistic work. Their musical souls, however, find their home in Asian musical traditions. They explore the musical fusion of Raga and Khmer traditions, seeking a contemporary expression of traditional tonal and rhythmic elements, incorporating current trends from the vibrant Berlin music scene, and drawing inspiration from the mystical atmosphere of Indian song and the Far Eastern dance of the Apsaras (celestial dancers).
What they share is a longing for poetry, beauty, and harmony as an intangible space of a sense of belonging. Their aim is to immerse people in this feeling, to offer them joy, comfort, and compassion, even if only for the brief duration of a concert.
Doors open at 8:00 PM. Please arrive well before the concert begins.
